Evidence Passport
A traceable asset-level record of what is known, what is inferred, what is missing, and what is worth testing next.
An Evidence Passport gathers what GeaSpirit currently knows about a single asset — a mine, a waste facility, a prospective target — together with what remains uncertain, what has only been inferred, what evidence would argue against the current reading, and which single observation would most efficiently reduce the uncertainty that matters.
It is not a resource estimate, a feasibility study, or a recommendation to mine anything. Its purpose is narrower and more useful than that: to make the reasoning behind a decision visible and auditable.
From scattered information to an asset-level record
Mining information almost never arrives as an answer. One facility may carry geological maps, historical reports, geochemistry, production records, satellite observations, mineralogical references and half-finished technical studies — produced decades apart, by different people, to different standards, and contradicting each other in places.
A Passport organises all of that around one asset, and instead of collapsing it into a score it keeps the shape of what is actually known:
- what has been directly measured or documented;
- what has been estimated or inferred, and from what;
- what evidence is simply missing;
- how complete and defendible the evidence base is;
- what supports the current priority — and what argues against it;
- what would materially change the interpretation;
- and the Next Best Action: the one step expected to resolve the most decision-critical unknown.
Priority is not Confidence
These are two different axes, and merging them is how an assessment becomes useless. One number cannot tell you whether an asset looks poor or whether you simply do not know yet — and those two situations call for opposite next steps.

And what it shows does not place this asset among the strongest candidates.Priority is not a probability that a deposit exists. Confidence is not certainty. Priority says how strongly the evidence supports looking further; confidence says how much of the evidence base is actually there.
Every piece of evidence is labelled as what it is
A measured value and an inference must never look alike, at any size, at a glance. Each field carries the state it arrived with, and those states never merge:

- Asset identity — the mine, facility or target, where it is, how it relates to its source deposit, and how confident that identification is.
- Geological context — host geology, deposit model where one is defendible, structures, alteration and mineralogy.
- Material evidence — chemistry, mineralogy, quantity and historical processing, each carrying its own state.
- Priority and Confidence — kept apart, never combined.
- Why — the evidence actually carrying the current reading.
- Counter-evidence — what argues against the hypothesis, when such evidence genuinely exists.
- Missing evidence — what would help, and is not there.
- What would change the assessment — the specific evidence capable of moving priority, confidence or the working hypothesis.
- Next Best Action — the next step expected to resolve the most important unknown, and what it would settle.
- Provenance — where every statement came from, and how it was classified.

Example Tailings Facility

- Historical processing is documented. Facility quantity is documented. Copper is documented in the source mineral system.
- Inferred
- Some potentially relevant minerals may have entered the waste stream — but waste-level mineralogy has never been measured, so this is an interpretation of the source deposit, not an observation of the waste.
- Unknown
- Current copper concentration in the waste. Liberation and deportment. Which mineral phases, if any, are recoverable.
- Counter-evidence
- None currently documented. That means none has been found — not that the hypothesis has been tested and survived.
- What would change the assessment
- Representative waste-level chemistry and mineralogical characterisation. Either could move this from High priority to Low in a single afternoon of laboratory time.
- Next Best Action
- Obtain a representative sample and run chemistry plus mineralogical characterisation — before any metallurgical testing. Metallurgy on an uncharacterised sample answers a question nobody asked.
- Interpretation
- The facility is interesting enough to justify one physical sample. The evidence available is not sufficient to say anything about recoverability, grade or economics — and the Passport does not.
What an Evidence Passport does not claim
- That a deposit exists, or that any material is recoverable.
- That an asset is available, for sale, or permitted.
- A resource, a reserve, a grade or a tonnage.
- An economic assessment of any kind.
- That contained material is recoverable material — presence is not concentration, concentration is not a resource, and a resource is not recoverable.
Real Evidence Passports remain private
Asset-level evidence, the detailed reasoning behind each reading, proprietary priorities and the decision record itself are available only inside an authenticated console. No Passport data is served from the public host — this page explains the instrument; it does not carry its output.
