GeaSpirit Demo Intelligence Report: Mining Asset Prioritization Using Open Data
This demonstration report shows how GeaSpirit turns open satellite and geoscience data into a transparent, comparable prioritization of mining assets. It is illustrative — built on open public data — and is not investment advice or a guarantee of mineral discovery.
1. What the GeaSpirit Score means
The GeaSpirit Score is a 0–100 triage signal. It answers one question: why should this asset earn attention before 10,000 others? It is a prioritization indicator, not a probability of ore and not a discovery guarantee. The score is built from four transparent dimensions, each on a 0–25 scale:
- Signal — satellite spectral mineralisation signal blended with geological favourability.
- Access / Depth — surface reachability and depth, weighted by infrastructure proximity.
- Precision — how tightly the target is bounded in space.
- Certainty — validation strength, reduced by a penalty for any missing evidence.
The four dimensions sum to the 0–100 headline, and a LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH confidence band is derived from the certainty dimension.
2. How assets are prioritized
Assets are ranked by the headline score, but the score is never read in isolation. A high headline with a low certainty band means strong apparent signal, weakly validated — a different decision than a slightly lower score that is well validated. Prioritization therefore reads the score together with its band and its dimension mix: an asset weak only on Access/Depth (a remote but geologically strong target) is a different opportunity from one weak on Signal.
3. Why certainty matters
Certainty is what separates an honest triage tool from a hype machine. GeaSpirit publishes conservative, leakage-resistant spatial cross-validation metrics inside its declared pilot zones (Chile Atacama, Peru, the Zambia/DRC Copperbelt, Kalgoorlie), and labels every other asset as an evidence-fusion estimate. Where evidence is missing, the certainty dimension is penalised, so a thinly-evidenced asset cannot reach a HIGH band on confidence alone.
4. Worked comparison — five assets
Five assets from the 119-asset open dataset, chosen to contrast a HIGH-confidence producer, validated producers, an undeveloped deposit and a dormant historic site. All figures are from open public data and the published GeaSpirit Score v1 methodology.
| Asset | Country | Signal | Access | Precision | Certainty | Score | Band | Validation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kalgoorlie Super Pit | Australia | 19.9 | 21.4 | 22.5 | 19.3 | 83.1 | HIGH | spatial CV |
| Chuquicamata | Chile | 21.1 | 21.7 | 23.0 | 17.5 | 83.3 | MEDIUM | spatial CV |
| Kansanshi | Zambia | 20.2 | 15.7 | 22.0 | 17.5 | 75.4 | MEDIUM | spatial CV |
| Roșia Montană | Romania | 17.3 | 15.3 | 19.5 | 12.5 | 64.6 | MEDIUM | estimate |
| Resolution Deposit | United States | 18.9 | 11.8 | 19.5 | 12.0 | 62.2 | MEDIUM | estimate |

Reading the comparison
- Kalgoorlie vs Chuquicamata — near-identical headlines (83.1 vs 83.3), but Kalgoorlie carries a HIGH band: its prioritization is better validated.
- Kansanshi — a strong validated producer whose lower Access/Depth (remoteness) is the main thing separating it from the top tier, not its geology.
- Resolution Deposit — geologically strong (Signal 18.9) but undeveloped: low Access/Depth and low Certainty pull the headline down. A target to watch, not to bank.
- Roșia Montană — a dormant historic site; a modest, honestly-uncertain score reflects exactly that status.
5. Limitations
- Remote sensing and open data screen opportunity; only drilling confirms a deposit.
- Scores are prioritization indicators, not probabilities of economic mineralisation.
- Coordinates and facts are approximate, from open public sources; GeaSpirit does not verify ownership or licence status.
- The sample evidence inputs in this demo are illustrative; production scores come from the GeaSpirit engine.
