Geospatial intelligence for strategic mineral discovery

GeaSpirit

Second-Chance Mining Intelligence

Two worlds. One system.

Mining is no longer just extraction. It is strategic intelligence over critical resources.

Analysis of 320,000+ mines and mineral deposits worldwide. GeaSpirit is one of the largest open intelligence platforms for mining assets — analyzing producing, dormant, abandoned and unexplored sites to identify overlooked, undervalued and underutilized opportunities. We combine geospatial intelligence, satellite imagery, geophysical analysis and explainable asset scoring to surface second-chance mining opportunities hidden in plain sight.

Why GeaSpirit

The global mining industry is changing. Critical minerals are becoming strategic infrastructure for energy, defense, AI, electrification and industrial resilience.

The advantage belongs to those who can identify overlooked opportunities before the market does. GeaSpirit turns fragmented geological and mining data into actionable, explainable intelligence — at global scale, honestly bounded by what open data can support.

But the real bottleneck is not a shortage of data — it is the opposite. There is a universe of scattered information of uneven quality and very different levels of evidence, and the difficulty lies in separating what is useful, relevant and defensible from what is incomplete, redundant or unreliable. That filter is precisely what GeaSpirit works on: turning open data into traceable Mining Intelligence, so that assets written off, considered exhausted or abandoned can be looked at again.

Why second-chance mining assets?

Many mines were abandoned for economic reasons — not because the geology ran out. GeaSpirit focuses on those overlooked assets and prioritises which deserve a fresh look. It does not guarantee discovery.

ECONOMIC, NOT GEOLOGICClosed on low metal prices, bankruptcy, dated technology or shallow historical drilling — the ore may still be there.

Most closures were business decisions, not exhausted geology: a commodity-price crash, a corporate bankruptcy, obsolete metallurgy, or drilling that only ever tested shallow, easy ground. When prices, technology and demand for critical minerals change, the same orebody can become viable again — which is exactly the universe GeaSpirit triages.

TAILINGS & WASTEHistoric tailings and waste can hold recoverable critical minerals under modern processing.

Older mines recovered only part of the metal in the ore. The rest sits in tailings dams and waste piles — often with grades of copper, gold, cobalt, rare earths or other critical minerals that modern reprocessing can recover, sometimes with an environmental-remediation upside. A tailings asset is a reprocessing opportunity, not a guarantee; GeaSpirit flags it for a closer look, never as proven value.

MODERN EYESSatellite data, open geoscience and explainable scoring re-evaluate assets the original miners never had the tools to see fully.

Open satellite imagery, public geoscience and explainable scoring let us re-read assets with tools their original operators never had. We store precise coordinates for every asset so that, over time, GeaSpirit's engine can pass over them and help judge whether mineralisation is likely to remain — turning scattered historical records into a structured, re-examinable inventory.

ENGINE → PLATFORMThe original GeaSpirit engine analyses terrain and geological signals; the platform applies it to historic, abandoned and underused mining assets.

GeaSpirit began as an engine that reads terrain and geological signals. The platform applies that engine to real-world historic, abandoned, care-and-maintenance and underused mining assets — and to the mine waste and tailings they left behind — to surface overlooked, second-chance opportunities.

Explainable asset scoring, not black-box predictions

The GeaSpirit Score answers one question: why should this asset earn your attention before 10,000 others? Every score is broken into four transparent dimensions and reported with an honest confidence band.

SIGNALOpen satellite imagery blended with regional geological favourability — apparent indication only.

Satellite spectral signal blended with geological favourability.

Scores 0–25. Raised by spectral anomalies (Sentinel-2 / Landsat) and favourable regional geology; it is never a confirmed deposit — only drilling proves ore.

ACCESS / DEPTHSurface reachability and depth, weighted by infrastructure proximity.

Surface reachability and depth, weighted by infrastructure proximity.

Scores 0–25. A remote or very deep target scores lower even when the geology is strong; where depth data is missing, the score stays conservative.

PRECISIONHow tightly the target is bounded in space.

How tightly the target is bounded in space.

Scores 0–25. Reflects the quality of the asset's coordinates, classification and descriptive data. Loosely-defined targets score lower because the opportunity is harder to locate and act on.

CERTAINTYValidation strength, reduced by a missing-data penalty.

Validation strength, reduced by a missing-data penalty.

Scores 0–25 and drives the confidence band. Inside declared pilot zones (Chile Atacama, Peru, the Zambia/DRC Copperbelt, Kalgoorlie) we publish conservative, leakage-resistant spatial cross-validation; every other asset is an evidence-fusion estimate.

The four dimensions each score 0–25 and sum to the 0–100 headline; the LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH confidence band is derived from Certainty. Always read them together — a high headline with a LOW band means a strong apparent signal that is weakly validated, a different decision from a slightly lower but well-validated score. Inside declared pilot zones (Chile Atacama, Peru, the Zambia/DRC Copperbelt, Kalgoorlie) we publish conservative spatial cross-validation; every other asset is an evidence-fusion estimate. GeaSpirit never invents production or resource figures — where open data is silent, the profile says so.

Where GeaSpirit is going

Today GeaSpirit is intelligence-first: it maps and scores second-chance mining assets on open data. Live today: a global Atlas with explainable scoring, an REE Prospectivity engine, a worldwide Cadastre lookup, a Minerals & Gems library, and a second-chance Marketplace (beta). Our deeper focus is mine waste and tailings reprocessing. We are building it into the most complete second-chance mining platform — the most complete second-chance mining platform. Tags below say what is live, focus or planned.

SECOND-CHANCE × WASTE-TO-RESOURCEOverlooked mining assets and the mine waste they left behind — one intelligence system.
PLANNED · CORE DIFFERENTIATOR

Our first differentiator is a geology-first engine applied to what others overlook: historic, abandoned, care-and-maintenance and underused assets — and, above all, the mine waste and tailings they left behind. We turn an impossible search across hundreds of thousands of sites into a short, explainable, prioritised list.

Every asset, report and score is built on open, official and traceable sources — with the reasoning shown, not hidden. Explainable prioritisation is the core of GeaSpirit.

OUR FOCUS: SECOND-CHANCESecond-hand mines, small & family operations, tailings reprocessing and mining-site waste.
FOCUS

Our second differentiator is scope. Without ruling out the services the big platforms offer, we deliberately centre on the overlooked middle: second-hand mines and mineral deposits, small and family-run operations, care-and-maintenance assets, tailings reprocessing, and waste from other mines and mining sites.

This is the segment large databases and broker marketplaces under-serve. We win on quality, traceability and useful scoring of these assets — not on raw volume.

MARKETPLACE: MINES & CARGOESA second-chance Marketplace (beta) to list mines, projects, JV/partner opportunities and mineral cargoes.
LIVE · BETA

GeaSpirit's Marketplace (beta) lets owners list mines, projects, JV / partner / earn-in opportunities and mineral cargoes — each linkable to its Atlas entry (satellite view + GeaSpirit Score + history). Contact runs through the platform; origin is linked to verifiable, timestamped data.

It will launch as a publishing / connect platform with honest guardrails: seller KYC and sanctions screening, a positive list of minerals, and clear disclaimers. It is not investment advice, not ownership verification, and not a guarantee of any sale.

HOW WE COMPAREWhat today's platforms and databases do — and what GeaSpirit fuses into one place.
CONTEXT

Project / JV marketplaces (e.g. B2BMineral, Mineral Intelligence, MinesOnline, The Minexchange, Mine Market) connect buyers, sellers and partners for mines and cargoes. Professional databases (S&P Capital IQ Pro Metals, Wood Mackenzie, CRU, Fastmarkets, Benchmark) provide deep, licensed intelligence on companies, projects, resources and prices.

GeaSpirit aims to take the best of both — discovery + listings + explainable scoring — focused on second-chance assets and mine-waste valorisation. We build on open and official sources (national cadastres, regulators, USGS, NI 43-101 / JORC, exchange filings); we never scrape or copy licensed databases. Licensed data, if ever used, stays a clearly separated premium layer.

HONEST LIMITS & TRUSTWhat GeaSpirit is — and what it deliberately is not.
ALWAYS

GeaSpirit is a prioritization and intelligence tool. It does not guarantee discovery, does not value assets, is not investment or legal advice, and does not verify legal ownership. The GeaSpirit Score is a triage signal, not a probability of ore.

Every asset carries its source, license, confidence, last-checked date, jurisdiction and stage. Where open data is silent, the profile says so — we never invent production or resource figures. Quality and traceability over volume is the whole point.
